Kettlebell Kneeling One-Arm Bottoms-Up Press

The bottoms-up press kneeling tall on both knees; with the legs out of it, the grip and the shoulder balance the upturned bell alone.

How to do it

Setup

Kneeling tall, hips over the knees, one kettlebell held bottom up at the shoulder, forearm vertical.

Steps

  1. Crush the handle and press the bell up slowly.
  2. Stop at lockout with the bell balanced over the shoulder.
  3. Lower it under control; finish the set, then switch arms.

Common mistakes

Loose grip: the bell tips over; squeeze the handle hard. Hips sinking toward the heels: squeeze the glutes and stay tall. Rushing up: a fast press loses the balance.

Breathing

Steady; exhale through the press.
