Two Ropes Climb
Climb two parallel ropes with the arms alone, one hand on each rope, legs hanging; there is no foot lock to rest on.
How to do it
Setup
Two ropes hanging shoulder-width apart, one in each hand, arms straight, legs hanging.
Steps
- Pull up and reach one hand higher on its rope.
- Pull again and bring the other hand up to match.
- Climb down the same way, hand under hand, never sliding.
Common mistakes
Swinging the legs to climb: they hang quiet; the arms and back do it. Sliding down the ropes: they burn; lower hand under hand. Climbing past what you can climb down: the descent needs strength left over.
Breathing
Steady with each reach.
