L-Sit Rope Climb

The rope climbed with the arms alone while the straight legs are held out in front in an L; the foot lock is gone and the abs hold the legs up the whole way.

How to do it

Setup

Hands high on the rope, legs lifted straight out in front to hip height, toes pointed.

Steps

  1. Pull up and reach one hand above the other.
  2. Keep the legs at hip height with every pull.
  3. Climb down hand under hand with the legs still up.

Common mistakes

Legs sinking as the arms tire: hold the L or come down. Kipping the legs to climb: they stay still; only the arms move. Sliding down: the rope burns; lower hand under hand.

Breathing

Steady with each reach.
