L-Pull-Up
The pull-up done with the straight legs held out in front at hip height; the abs and hip flexors hold the L while the back pulls.
How to do it
Setup
Hang from the bar with an overhand grip, lift the straight legs out in front to hip height, toes pointed.
Steps
- Pull the chin over the bar with the legs level.
- Lower to straight arms, legs still up.
- End the set when the L drops, not when the arms quit.
Common mistakes
Legs sinking below the hips: bend the knees into a tuck rather than letting them drop. Swinging the legs to help the pull: they stay still. Leaning the head back to see the bar: chin level, chest up.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale lowering.
