Standing Reach Down Hamstring Crossed Legs Stretch

The standing fold with one leg crossed in front of the other; the crossed-over leg takes the stretch along the outer back of the thigh.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, one foot crossed in front of the other, feet flat and close, knees soft.

Steps

  1. Hinge forward from the hips, reaching toward the floor.
  2. Keep the weight on both feet; the front leg takes the stretch.
  3. Roll up slowly, head last, then cross the other leg in front.

Common mistakes

Locked knees to reach the floor: keep them soft, fold from the hips. Weight tipping onto the back foot: stay even over both. Standing up fast: roll up slowly, head last.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
