Standing Leg Circle
Standing on one leg, draw circles with the other, straight leg just off the floor; the standing hip balances while the moving hip turns through every direction.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, hands on the hips or on a support, weight on one leg, the other foot just off the floor.
Steps
- Circle the straight free leg from the hip: forward, out, back and in.
- Keep the pelvis level and the torso still.
- Reverse the direction, then switch legs.
Common mistakes
Torso swaying with the leg: brace and keep it still. Standing knee locked: keep it soft. Circles growing too big to control: make them smaller.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
