Butterfly Yoga Flaps
The butterfly seat with the knees flapping gently up and down in a steady rhythm instead of a still hold, loosening the inner thighs; timed.
How to do it
Setup
Seated tall, soles of the feet together, heels drawn in, hands holding the feet.
Steps
- Let the knees rise and fall gently in a small, even rhythm.
- Keep the spine tall and the movement small, never pushed down.
- Slow the flapping to a stop, then straighten the legs.
Common mistakes
Slamming the knees toward the floor: the flap is light and rhythmic, never a push. Rounding the back as the legs move: sit tall, on a blanket if needed. Speeding up until the hips jolt: keep an even, easy tempo.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
