Standing Hamstrings and Back Stretch

Feet together and legs straight, fold forward and hook the fingers under the toes; the back rounds and the backs of the legs stretch.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, feet together, legs straight, arms by the sides.

Steps

  1. Fold forward, sliding the hands down the legs to the toes.
  2. Hook the fingers under the toes and let the head hang.
  3. Hold and breathe, then roll up slowly, head last.

Common mistakes

Yanking on the toes to go lower: hold them and let the weight of the body do the work. Knees locked hard: straight but soft. Holding the breath in the fold: keep it slow and even.

Breathing

Exhale on the way down, then breathe evenly in the hold.
