Kneeling Toe Up Hamstring Stretch

On one knee with the other leg straight ahead on its heel, toes pulled up, hinge forward; the upturned toes bring the calf into it.

How to do it

Setup

One knee down on a mat, the other leg straight ahead on its heel, toes pulled up.

Steps

  1. Hinge forward over the straight leg with a flat back.
  2. Reach one hand toward the toes; the other steadies you.
  3. Hold and breathe, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Rounding to reach the toes: fold from the hips, back flat. Front foot rolling out to the side: toes pointing straight up. Bare knee on a hard floor: pad it before the hold.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
