Stability Ball on the Wall Calf Raise (Tennis Ball Between Knees)

The ball-on-the-wall calf raise with a tennis ball held between the knees; the squeeze keeps the legs together over the feet.

How to do it

Setup

Feet close, a tennis ball between the knees, the stability ball at the back, bells hanging.

Steps

  1. Hold the tennis ball with the knees and rise onto the toes.
  2. Pause at the top, legs straight and pressed together.
  3. Lower slowly without letting the knees part.

Common mistakes

Knees bending to grip the ball: legs straight; squeeze from the inner thighs. Letting the squeeze fade at the top: that is where it falls. Heels splaying out: rise straight up over the big toes.

Breathing

Exhale rising, inhale lowering.
