Sprints

Short all-out efforts with full recovery between them; quality falls off fast, so keep the count low.

Sprints, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Thorough warm-up: jog, drills, a few strides building to fast.

Steps

  1. Sprint short and ALL-OUT.
  2. Recover fully – walk until the breath settles.
  3. Repeat while quality holds; stop when it drops.

Common mistakes

Short rests: sprints are not intervals; full recovery IS the format. Sprinting cold: a cold hamstring is the one that gets strained; warm up fully first. Adding reps as form fades: quality falls before you feel it.

Breathing

All-out effort; let it recover fully between reps.
