High Knee Skip

Skip for height, driving one knee up hard each time; more air, fewer contacts than high knees.

High Knee Skip, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, space to travel or on the spot.

Steps

  1. Skip for HEIGHT, driving one knee up hard.
  2. Drive the opposite arm with it.
  3. Land soft and skip off the other leg.

Common mistakes

Skipping for distance: HEIGHT is the cue; hang in the air. Flat stomping landings: ankle springs. Lazy arms: they lift half the skip.

Breathing

Exhale on each drive.
