Band Assisted Sprinter Run
Sprint against a band looped round the waist while a partner behind holds it back; the lean and drive of a sprint start.
How to do it
Setup
Band around the waist, a partner a few steps behind holding the ends, body leaning forward in a sprint stance.
Steps
- Drive the knees forward in short powerful strides against the pull.
- Keep the body leaning forward from the ankles, arms pumping.
- Run the set distance, then walk back and repeat.
Common mistakes
Partner holding too hard: the stride shrinks to a shuffle; the pull should slow, not stop. Standing upright against the band: lean into it from the ankles. Band riding up to the chest: set it at the hips.
Breathing
All-out effort; let it recover fully between reps.
