Assault Run
Running on a curved treadmill with no motor: the feet drive the belt, so the pace is set by the runner and stops the moment the runner does.
How to do it
Setup
Hands on the rails, feet on the flat middle of the curve; let go once walking.
Steps
- Move up the curve to speed up, back toward the middle to slow down.
- Land under the hips on the balls of the feet.
- Swing the arms and keep the chest tall; log the time and distance.
Common mistakes
Running too far up the front of the curve: the belt runs away; stay near the middle. Heavy heel strikes: land under the hips, light and quick. Holding the rails at pace: let the arms swing free.
Breathing
Steady with the pace.
