Single-Leg Transverse Bend

Standing on one leg with the other bent behind, fold forward as the standing knee bends and reach both hands across to the outside of the standing foot.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall on one leg, the other knee bent with the foot behind, arms hanging.

Steps

  1. Hinge forward and bend the standing knee.
  2. Reach both hands across to the outside of the standing foot.
  3. Rise back to tall; switch legs after the set.

Common mistakes

Standing knee caving as you reach across: keep it over the toes. Rounding hard through the back: hinge at the hip first. Rushing up: rise under control.

Breathing

Exhale bending, inhale rising.
