Split Sprinter Low Lunge

From a split stance, sink into a low sprinter's lunge with the fingertips on the floor by the front foot and rise back, the same leg behind for the whole set.

How to do it

Setup

Split stance with one foot well behind, torso leaning forward, hands hanging toward the floor.

Steps

  1. Bend both knees and sink until the fingertips touch the floor beside the front foot.
  2. Keep the chest over the front thigh and the back heel up.
  3. Push through the front foot back to the split stance; switch legs after the set.

Common mistakes

Stepping the feet together between reps: the split stance stays; only the height changes. Back knee slamming the floor: stop it just above. Weight tipping onto the hands: they only touch; the front leg carries you.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale driving up.
