Squat Tip Toe

Hold a low wide squat and lift the heels one at a time onto the toes; the thighs work in the hold while the calves move.

How to do it

Setup

Wide squat held low, toes turned out, hands clasped at the chest.

Steps

  1. Rise onto the toes of one foot, the squat held still.
  2. Lower that heel and lift the other.
  3. Keep the hips at the same height the whole set.

Common mistakes

Rising out of the squat as the heel lifts: the hips stay low. Knees falling in on the lifted side: push them out over the toes. Rocking the torso side to side: stay square.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
