Resistance Band Side Walk Squat

A side step with a looped band above the knees, then a squat, then the next step; the band keeps the outer hips working between the squats.

How to do it

Setup

Looped band just above the knees, feet hip-width, hands together at the chest.

Steps

  1. Take a wide step to the side against the band.
  2. Squat down with the knees pressing out.
  3. Stand, bring the trailing foot in partway, and step again.

Common mistakes

Trailing foot closing all the way in: stop at hip-width so the band never slackens. Knees caving in the squat: press them out over the toes. Leaning the torso sideways: stay upright between steps.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
