Resistance Band Lateral Step and Squat
A side step against a loop band above the knees, then a squat; the band makes the hips fight to keep the knees apart.
How to do it
Setup
A loop band just above the knees, feet hip-width, hands at the chest.
Steps
- Step one foot out to the side against the band.
- Squat, knees pushed out.
- Stand, bring the other foot in, and repeat.
Common mistakes
Knees caving into the band: push them out. Feet snapping together after the step: keep the band taut. Leaning over the stepping foot: the torso stays upright.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
