Sideways Lifts Vertical Turn (Straight Legs)

Lying with the straight legs pointing up, the hips lift a little off the floor and turn toward one side, then toward the other.

How to do it

Setup

On your back, arms along the sides with the palms down, straight legs raised to vertical.

Steps

  1. Lift the hips off the floor, turning them toward one side.
  2. Keep the legs straight and pointing up.
  3. Lower the hips, then lift and turn toward the other side.

Common mistakes

Throwing the legs toward the head to lift the hips: push them straight up. Pressing hard with the hands: they steady you; the abs lift. Dropping the hips back down: lower them slowly.

Breathing

Exhale lifting the hips, inhale lowering.
