Side Plank Twist Arm Delt Raise
In a side plank on a straight arm, the top arm reaches to the ceiling, then threads under the chest as the torso turns down, and rises again.
How to do it
Setup
Side plank on a straight arm, the hand under the shoulder, feet stacked, top arm straight up.
Steps
- Sweep the top arm down and thread it under the chest, turning the torso toward the floor.
- Keep the hips high and the feet stacked.
- Turn back open and reach the arm up to the ceiling; switch sides after the set.
Common mistakes
Hips dropping as the arm threads under: keep them lifted the whole rep. Supporting shoulder sinking: push the floor away. Rushing the turn: move slowly and stop at each end.
Breathing
Inhale opening up, exhale threading under.
