Side Lunge Stretch with Rotation

From a wide stance, shift into a side lunge, reach one hand to the floor between the feet and turn the other arm up, then come back through the middle to the other side.

How to do it

Setup

Feet planted very wide and parallel, the arms hanging.

Steps

  1. Bend one knee and shift over it, the other leg straight.
  2. Reach one hand to the floor between the feet and turn the free arm up toward the ceiling.
  3. Come back through the middle and repeat to the other side.

Common mistakes

Bent knee caving inward: keep it over the toes. Rounding hard to touch the floor: bend the knee more and keep the back long. Hurrying across between sides: settle into each lunge before turning.

Breathing

Exhale into each reach, inhale through the middle.
