Side Lunge Adductor Stretch

Feet wide, bend one knee and shift over it while the other leg stays straight; the inner thigh of the straight leg stretches.

How to do it

Setup

Standing with the feet wide apart, toes forward, hands on the thighs.

Steps

  1. Bend one knee and shift the hips over that foot.
  2. Keep the other leg straight, its foot flat, until the inner thigh stretches.
  3. Hold and breathe, then shift across to the other side.

Common mistakes

Bent knee caving inward: it tracks over the toes. The straight leg's foot rolling onto its edge: keep the sole flat. Rounding the back to go lower: sit the hips back and keep the chest up.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
