Shoulder Flexion Back to Wall
Standing with the back flat against a wall, raise the straight arms in front and overhead until the hands reach the wall, the back staying on it.
How to do it
Setup
Back, head and hips against a wall, heels a small step out, arms straight at the sides.
Steps
- Raise both straight arms forward and up overhead.
- Reach the backs of the hands toward the wall without arching away from it.
- Lower the arms slowly to the sides.
Common mistakes
Lower back peeling off the wall as the arms rise: stop where it would. Bending the elbows to reach the wall: arms straight, less range. Head pushing forward: the back of the head stays on the wall.
Breathing
Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
