Battling Ropes Alternate Arms Jump Squat

Alternating waves with the ropes while dropping into a squat and jumping out of it; the arms keep the waves going through the jump and the landing.

How to do it

Setup

Facing the anchor, a rope end in each hand, feet shoulder-width, in a half squat.

Steps

  1. Make alternating waves, one arm up as the other drives down.
  2. Jump up out of the squat without stopping the waves.
  3. Land softly back in the squat and keep going; log the time.

Common mistakes

Waves dying during the jump: keep the arms working in the air. Landing on straight legs: sink back into the squat softly. Knees caving on the landing: track them over the toes.

Breathing

Rhythmic with the waves; recover in the rests.
