Battling Ropes Split Jump

Keep the waves running while jumping from one lunge into the other; the jumping lunges add the legs and a landing to the arms' work.

How to do it

Setup

In a lunge facing the anchor, a rope end in each hand, back knee hovering, chest up.

Steps

  1. Start the waves, then jump and switch the legs in the air.
  2. Land softly in the opposite lunge, front knee over the toes.
  3. Keep the waves going through every jump.

Common mistakes

Landing hard on a straight front leg: land soft with the knee bent over the toes. Back knee slamming the floor: it stops just above. Waves stopping for the jump: the arms never pause.

Breathing

Exhale on every jump; keep the rhythm.
