Self-Assisted Inverted Pullover
Lying face up with the hands holding a bench behind the head, lift the straight legs and then the hips until the legs point at the ceiling; the arms pull on the bench to help the hips up.
How to do it
Setup
Lying face up, head toward a bench, hands holding it behind the head, legs straight on the floor.
Steps
- Raise the straight legs until they point at the ceiling.
- Pull on the bench and lift the hips off the floor.
- Lower the hips, then the legs, slowly back to the floor.
Common mistakes
Swinging the legs up: lift them with the abs, no kick. Dropping the hips hard: lower them one vertebra at a time. Bending the knees to make it easy: keep the legs straight, or shorten the range.
Breathing
Exhale lifting the hips, inhale lowering.
