Seated Pull-Up (Legs Elevated)

The seated pull-up with the heels up on a bench, so the body starts more level and the arms lift more of it.

How to do it

Setup

Seated under a bar within reach of straight arms, heels on a bench in front, overhand grip shoulder-width.

Steps

  1. Pull the chest to the bar, the body rising in one line from the heels.
  2. Squeeze the shoulder blades at the top.
  3. Lower until the arms are straight.

Common mistakes

Hips folding as you rise: keep the line from the bench to the head. Heels sliding off the bench: set them before the first rep. Half reps near the bar: straight arms at the bottom.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
