Ring Resistance Band Assisted Single-Arm Pull-Up

The band-assisted one-arm pull-up on gymnastic rings: one hand on a ring, the other on a loop band hanging from the second ring, which lets the working wrist turn freely.

How to do it

Setup

One hand on a ring, the other gripping a loop band hung from the other ring, arm straight, body still.

Steps

  1. Pull with the ring arm, letting the ring turn as you rise.
  2. Rise until the chin reaches the working hand.
  3. Lower slowly to a full hang; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Ring swinging out to the side: pull it in toward the chest. Leaning on the band arm: the ring arm does the pulling. Dropping the last part of the lowering: control it all the way to straight.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale lowering.
