Seated Leg Raise

Seated on the end of a bench, hands gripping it behind the hips, the knees draw in to the chest and the legs extend out low.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the end of a flat bench, leaning back a little, hands gripping its sides, legs extended forward.

Steps

  1. Draw the knees in toward the chest.
  2. Extend the legs out low without touching the floor.
  3. Keep the chest up and the hands firm on the bench.

Common mistakes

Rocking the trunk back and forth: move the legs, not the chest. Feet touching down between reps: keep them hovering. Short tucks: bring the knees all the way in.

Breathing

Exhale drawing the knees in, inhale extending.
