Ring Single-Arm Rear Delt Row
The single-arm rear delt row on a gymnastic ring; the ring swings and turns freely, so the shoulder has to steady it on the way up.
How to do it
Setup
One ring in one hand, palm down, body leaning back in a straight line, elbow turned out.
Steps
- Row up, driving the elbow out to shoulder height.
- Keep the palm facing down the whole rep.
- Return to a long arm; do every rep before switching.
Common mistakes
Letting the ring turn the palm in: the elbow falls to the ribs; keep the palm down. Body twisting toward the free arm: square the chest to the ring. Hips sagging: tight glutes, one line from heels to head.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
