Cable Standing One-Arm Face Pull

The face pull with one handle and one arm, which shows whether both shoulders pull the same and stops the stronger side taking over.

How to do it

Setup

Single handle on a pulley at head height, facing the stack, arm long, feet staggered.

Steps

  1. Pull the handle to the side of the face, elbow high.
  2. Finish with the hand beside the ear and the elbow out to the side.
  3. Return slowly to a long arm.

Common mistakes

Twisting toward the working side: keep the chest square to the stack. Elbow dropping to the ribs: it stays at shoulder height. Leaning back to finish: stand tall; lighter stack.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the return.
