Ring Reverse Fly
The reverse fly on gymnastic rings, leaning back with straight arms; how far you lean sets the load.
How to do it
Setup
Facing the rings, arms straight in front at chest height, body leaning back in one line from heels to head.
Steps
- Open the straight arms out to the sides until the body rises to the rings.
- Squeeze the rear shoulders at the top.
- Bring the arms back together slowly, body still straight.
Common mistakes
Elbows bending as you tire: that makes it a row; step back to stand more upright. Hips sagging: brace so the body stays one line. Shrugging into the neck: shoulders down as the arms open.
Breathing
Exhale as the arms open, inhale on the return.
