Dumbbell Seated Bent-Over Rear Delt Row

Seated on the end of a bench with the chest over the thighs, row the dumbbells out wide; sitting takes the legs and lower back out of it.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the end of a bench, chest folded over the thighs, bells hanging beside the feet.

Steps

  1. Row the bells up and out, elbows flaring wide.
  2. Stop with the upper arms level with the back.
  3. Lower until the arms hang long again.

Common mistakes

Sitting up as you pull: the chest stays on the thighs. Elbows sweeping back along the ribs: that is a back row; flare them. Jerking the bells up: slow on the way up, slower on the way down.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
