Dumbbell Lying on Floor Rear Delt Raise

Side-lying on the floor, the top arm raises the bell from the floor in front of the chest to straight up.

How to do it

Setup

On the side on the floor, head on the lower arm, the bell on the floor at the chest.

Steps

  1. Raise the bell with a nearly straight arm until it points up.
  2. Keep the hips and shoulders stacked.
  3. Lower to just above the floor; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Rolling onto the back as the bell rises: hips and shoulders stay stacked. Bending the elbow into a row: soft and fixed. Resting the bell on the floor: hover it between reps.

Breathing

Exhale raising, inhale lowering.
