Resistance Band Long Jump

The standing long jump against a long band looped round the hips and anchored behind; the band fights the take-off and pulls you back.

How to do it

Setup

A long band round the hips, anchored behind at hip height, stepped out until taut, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Hinge and swing the arms back against the band's pull.
  2. Jump forward as far as the band allows.
  3. Land in a squat, hold it, then walk back slowly.

Common mistakes

Letting the band yank you back after the landing: brace and hold the squat, then walk back. Band anchored too low or too high: at hip height it pulls straight back. Knees buckling in the catch: track them over the toes.

Breathing

Exhale on the jump, inhale walking back.
