Prisoner Jump Squat

The jump squat with the hands laced behind the head; without the arm swing the legs make the whole jump.

How to do it

Setup

Feet shoulder-width, fingers laced behind the head, elbows wide.

Steps

  1. Squat down with the chest up and the elbows back.
  2. Jump straight up, hands still behind the head.
  3. Land soft on bent knees and flow into the next squat.

Common mistakes

Pulling on the head: the hands only rest there; the neck stays long. Elbows folding forward: keep them wide so the chest stays up. Knees caving on the catch: track them over the toes.

Breathing

Exhale on the jump, inhale landing.
