Plank on Hands
The plank held on straight arms, hands under the shoulders instead of the forearms; the shoulders carry more of the hold.
How to do it
Setup
Hands under the shoulders, arms straight, feet together, body one line from head to heels.
Steps
- Push the floor away so the blades spread slightly.
- Tighten the abs and glutes to hold the line.
- Hold; end the set when the hips start to sag.
Common mistakes
Hands creeping forward of the shoulders: stack the wrists under them. Elbows jammed hard into a lock: straight but not forced. Hips sagging or piking: one line, head to heels.
Breathing
Steady and shallow throughout; never held.
