One-Leg Star Balance
Balance on one slightly bent leg and reach the other foot out in turn to the front, the side and behind, touching down lightly each time.
How to do it
Setup
On one leg, knee soft, hands on the hips.
Steps
- Reach the free foot forward and tap the floor lightly.
- Reach it to the side, then behind, bending the standing knee a little.
- Return to the start between reaches; switch legs after the set.
Common mistakes
Putting weight on the reaching foot: it only taps. Standing knee caving inward: keep it over the middle toes. Hips hiking or dropping: keep the pelvis level.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
