Neck Flexor Stretch

The palms on the forehead ease the head back until the nose points up at the ceiling, stretching the front of the neck; held for time, gently.

How to do it

Setup

Seated or standing tall, shoulders down, fingers laced and the palms resting on the forehead.

Steps

  1. Ease the head back with the palms, the chin rising.
  2. Stop when the front of the neck stretches, nose to the ceiling, and hold.
  3. Bring the head back to level slowly.

Common mistakes

Dropping the head back fast: move slowly and never let it fall. Hunching the shoulders: keep them down so the front of the neck opens. Pushing on through dizziness or a pinch at the base of the skull: come back to level and shorten the range.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
