Neck Flexor and Rotational Stretch

One hand on the forehead guides the head back and toward that shoulder, stretching the front of the neck on the opposite side; held for time.

How to do it

Setup

Seated or standing tall, shoulders down, one palm on the forehead.

Steps

  1. Tip the head back slowly with the hand.
  2. Turn it toward the hand's shoulder until the far side of the throat stretches, and hold.
  3. Return through the middle and switch hands.

Common mistakes

Tipping and turning in one jerk: tip back first, then turn, both slowly. Lifting the shoulder to the ear: both shoulders stay down. Holding on through dizziness: come back to level and ease off.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
