Assisted Rotating Neck Stretch
Standing, the head turns to look over one shoulder and a hand on the jaw eases it a little further; held, not swung from side to side.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, shoulders low, chin level, one hand ready at the jaw.
Steps
- Turn the head to look over one shoulder as far as it goes on its own.
- Place the other side's hand on the jaw and ease the turn a little further.
- Hold and breathe, then let the head return slowly and switch sides.
Common mistakes
Cranking the jaw with the hand: it adds a little, never a wrench. Chin tipping up or down as the head turns: keep it level; the turn is the stretch. Shoulders twisting with the head: they stay square to the front.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
