Extension and Inclination Neck Stretch
With the hands clasped behind the back, the head tips back and toward one shoulder, then turns to look over the other; the front and sides of the neck lengthen.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, feet hip-width, hands clasped behind the back, shoulders low.
Steps
- Tip the head back and toward one shoulder until the front of the neck stretches.
- Turn it slowly to look over the other shoulder.
- Hold and breathe, then bring the head back to level slowly and switch sides.
Common mistakes
Letting the head drop back: lower it with control and never let it fall. Clasped hands lifting the shoulders: keep them low so the neck can lengthen. Rushing from one position to the other: slow, even movement, no jerks.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
