Mountain Climber Lunge

From a high plank, step one foot all the way up toward the hands into a low lunge, then back; the mountain climber slowed into a full stride.

How to do it

Setup

High plank on straight arms, hands under the shoulders, hips level.

Steps

  1. Step one foot up toward the hands and plant it flat.
  2. Sink the hips into the lunge for a moment.
  3. Step it back to the plank and switch legs.

Common mistakes

Foot landing short: bring it up close to the hands for the full stride. Hips piking up on the step: keep them low and level. Shoulders drifting behind the hands: stack them over the wrists.

Breathing

Steady rhythm with the legs; never held.
