Modified Hindu Push-Up
The Hindu push-up ending in a plank: from a pike with the hips high, bend the elbows and swoop the chest forward low between the hands into a push-up plank, then push the hips back up.
How to do it
Setup
In a pike, hands shoulder-width on the floor, hips high, feet hip-width.
Steps
- Bend the elbows and dip the head and chest toward the floor between the hands.
- Glide forward low into a push-up plank.
- Push the floor away and drive the hips back up to the pike.
Common mistakes
Dropping straight down onto the face: the chest glides forward, skimming the floor. Hips sagging in the plank: brace as you arrive. Elbows flaring wide: keep them at about 45° from the body.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale pressing.
