Full Planche Push-Up

Push-ups in a full planche: the body held level with the feet off the floor, lowered and pressed on the hands alone.

How to do it

Setup

Hands on the floor, fingers turned out, shoulders leaned far past the wrists until the straight body and legs float level.

Steps

  1. Bend the elbows and lower the level body toward the floor.
  2. Keep the shoulders ahead of the hands and the legs together and straight.
  3. Press back to straight arms without dropping the feet.

Common mistakes

Attempting it before a solid planche hold: build the hold and the pseudo planche push-up first. Hips piking or sagging: one straight line from the shoulders to the feet. Feet touching down between reps: the planche holds for the whole set; end it there.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale pressing.
