Rotate Push-Up
A push-up that opens into a side plank at the top: the body turns onto one hand and the free arm reaches straight up to the ceiling, alternating sides.
How to do it
Setup
High plank, hands under the shoulders, feet hip-width.
Steps
- Lower the chest to just above the floor and press up.
- Turn onto one hand and reach the other arm to the ceiling, the body in a side plank.
- Return the hand to the floor and turn to the other side after the next rep.
Common mistakes
Hips dropping in the side plank: lift them into one line from head to feet. Supporting hand ahead of the shoulder: keep it under the shoulder. Swinging the arm up: rotate with control and stack the arms.
Breathing
Inhale lowering, exhale pressing and turning.
