Machine Standing Leg Raise
Standing in a multi-hip machine, drive the knee up against the pad; the machine loads hip flexion while you stand balanced on the other leg.
How to do it
Setup
Standing on the machine's platform, hands on the handles, the pad set across the front of the working thigh just above the knee.
Steps
- Drive the knee up against the pad until the thigh is level with the hip.
- Pause at the top without leaning back.
- Let the pad bring the leg down without a drop; finish the leg, switch.
Common mistakes
Leaning back to move more weight: the torso stays upright and the hip lifts alone. Pad set on the shin: set it just above the knee. Dropping the leg between reps: the plates never rest.
Breathing
Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
