Cable Standing Hip Flexion

Standing with your back to a low pulley, an ankle strap on one leg, drive the knee up against the cable; the stack gives a load you can raise in small steps.

How to do it

Setup

Back to the low pulley, the ankle strap on one leg, hands on the frame, standing tall on the other leg.

Steps

  1. Drive the strapped knee up to hip height.
  2. Pause with the thigh level, hips square.
  3. Lower the foot back under control without letting the stack rest.

Common mistakes

Rocking the torso back to heave the stack: pick a weight the hip lifts alone. Standing leg bending with each rep: keep it straight and still. Dropping the leg fast: the cable should never slam.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
