Cable Lying Single-Leg Hip Flexion

On your back with the feet toward a low pulley, an ankle strap on one leg, draw that knee toward the chest against the cable while the other leg rests long.

How to do it

Setup

On your back, feet toward the low pulley, the ankle strap on one leg, arms on the floor, the other leg straight.

Steps

  1. Draw the strapped knee toward the chest.
  2. Stop when the thigh is vertical, lower back on the floor.
  3. Let the cable draw the leg back out slowly; finish the leg, switch.

Common mistakes

Lower back arching as the leg returns: press it into the floor and shorten the range. Letting the cable snap the leg straight: resist the whole way out. Lifting the resting leg to help: it stays long on the floor.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
